Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
This guide responds to some of our frequently asked questions from hiring managers and government partners.
How much does Civic Match cost?
Civic Match is philanthropically funded and completely free for job seekers and government employers.
How does it work?
Once you create an account and receive your onboarding materials, you’ll be able to review thousands of resumes of Civic Match candidates, add candidates to your own shortlist, and generate "invitations to apply" to candidates from the platform. You’ll be paired with a dedicated Civic Match talent lead, who can support your search for the perfect match. Civic Match hiring managers also get exclusive access to our popular Civic Match Live events - virtual job fairs where you can meet Civic Match candidates.
Who from my agency or department should request an account?
Civic Match is a great fit for HR managers, recruitment leads and any professionals currently employed by a state, local or county government entity that are looking to recruit candidates for open roles. At this time, Civic Match is not available for use by recruiters, third parties or private sector employers.
What types of roles should I post on the Civic Match jobs board?
Civic Match is typically a good fit for recruiting talent for a range of roles in policy implementation and local government leadership. Please review our jobs board for example roles and areas of specialty. We have an extremely diverse candidate pool, ranging from 1 to 20+ years of experience in a variety of fields. However, we don’t recommend posting roles that require state-based certifications, speciality technical experience not typically found at the federal level or direct service delivery.
How do I access the Civic Match job seeker resume database?
To access the Civic Match job seeker resume database, you will need a government hiring manager account. If you are new to Civic Match, create an account here. If you already have a Civic Match account, log in here. Contact support@workforamerica.org or visit our support page if you have any issues.
How does Civic Match work with my local government hiring process?
Is there training available?
Yes! Register for our optional office hours, hosted by the Civic Match team biweekly on Tuesdays at 3pm EST. Here you can learn more about our team, receive a demo of the platform, and ask any questions you may have to help you better navigate Civic Match.
