How Do Hiring Managers Use Civic Match To Find Talent?

For any job you are interested in, be sure to click Save Job to save it to your Saved Jobs list. Hiring managers will be able to see that you have saved their jobs and may send you an invitation to apply!

For any job that you applied for, be sure to click Mark as Applied.

We have over 1,000 (and climbing) hiring managers posting roles and viewing job seekers on Civic Match! If a hiring manager thinks your profile is a good fit, you might hear from them in one a few ways:

• Directly via email or phone.
• They may send you an “Invitation to Apply” for a specific role.
  • These invitations will always come into your email inbox as a message from civicmatch@workforamerica.org with the subject line "A Local Government Employer Is Interested in Your Civic Match Profile.”
  • On your Invitations tab, you can keep track of invitations received and mark if you have applied for the role.

• • You can respond directly to these emails with questions or feedback. 
    

State and local hiring managers use Civic Match in several ways to find and connect with great job candidates—and we’re here to help make those connections happen.

• Searching the Resume Bank: Hiring managers can browse Civic Match to find candidates based on experience, skills, location, and more. The more complete and up-to-date your profile is, the more likely you are to show up in their searches.

• Civic Match Live Events: These exclusive virtual career fairs are a powerful way to meet hiring managers face-to-face. When employers join, they’re actively recruiting and looking for someone like you. Showing up prepared and engaged makes a big difference.
• Support from the Civic Match Team: We actively help government partners find the right candidates for their open roles. When you click Save Job the job will automatically be added to your profile so that hiring managers can see that you’re interested. When you click Mark as Applied, your profile will be highlighted for the hiring manager. 

We’re constantly posting new opportunities. If you don’t hear back right away, don’t get discouraged—keep checking the job board, updating your profile, and attending events.

Please note that we cannot directly introduce job seekers to hiring managers unless requested by the hiring manager.
