# How To Close A Role

## Closing a role on our job board when applications are no longer being accepted, or the role has been filled helps to keep our job board up-to-date. This guide explains how to close a role on Civic Match after submission.

### **Steps**

1. **[Log in to Civic Match.](https://app.civicmatch.org/sign-in)**
2. Under **My Roles**, select the role you’d like to modify. Open the job posting details.
3. Select **Edit Job.**
4. Under **Job Details**, change the job closing date to the closing date.  
     1. This should be a date in the past. Use the day prior if the role closed today.
5. Preview the job post to review your changes.
6. Once finalized, select **Save Changes** to push your role updates to the job board. The role will close instantly.
