Job Status Definitions
This guide will define the statuses that are used to categorize role activity on the Civic Match job board.
- Open
- Definition: Job is actively open for applicants.
- Default status when a new job is created.
- Most roles are auto-approved to the job board.

- Others may require additional approval, and will show as "Under Review".

- Closed
- Definition: Job is no longer accepting applicants
- This status is automatically applied when the “hide by” date is reached.
- “Hide by” is determined by the posting close date if there is one OR 120 days after posting is created if the job is “open until filled”)

- Upcoming
- Definition: This is a placeholder, manually assigned by WFA admin, to note the Civic Match team is aware of this job coming up soon from a call or email with a hiring manager, but we don’t have an application link yet.
- Once role is ready to go live, WFA staff should ensure job details are complete, then change status to Open.

- Need Details
- Definition: This is a placeholder for a role where the submitted role is incomplete or unclear. WFA staff should request additional details from the hiring manager before approving.
- Civic Match Hire
- Definition: The Civic Match program facilitated this hire! Hooray! Apply when:
- The candidate is in the database AND
- the job was publicly posted on our jobs board, OR
- the hiring manager has confirmed that the candidate was hired from Civic Match (job may or may not have been posted, ex: we shared resumes or sent invitations to apply on behalf of the hiring manager), OR
- the candidate tells us that they applied for a role via Civic Match

- The candidate is in the database AND
- Definition: The Civic Match program facilitated this hire! Hooray! Apply when:
