☑️ Mental health support 

Mind the Movement subsidizes mental health care for fired federal workers, former campaign staff and, underemployed or uninsured community organizers – people who’ve committed their lives to making the world better.

Mind the Movement is piloting a new program that funds therapy in AZ, MI, and VA for up to 300 eligible applicants

If you live in AZ, MI, or VA and meet the eligibility requirements, you may be qualified for Mind the Movement to pay for $1,400 worth of mental health care. 

Funds are distributed on a first come, first serve basis for eligible applicants.

☑️ Three hours of career coaching

Access to the Coaching Collaborative by Grounded Idealist. They'll match you with a coach selected for your specific needs and give expert advice on how to manage career transitions over: 

  • three (3) coaching sessions,
  • a newsletter with ongoing resources, and
  • access to Grounded Idealist’s monthly live workshops.

FREE access to the Federal Talent Platform. The platform provides access to virtual AI-coaches. They will walk you through every step of a transition from federal service from:

  • Figuring out how your hard and soft skills translate to other sectors of the economy,
  • Selecting new career pathways,
  • Determining upskilling opportunities to enhance your competitiveness in the job market, and
  • refreshing your resumes.

☑️ Free online courses in cutting-edge skills

InnovateUS provides no-cost, at-your-own-pace courses for public service professionals. Their courses focus on data, digital, innovation, and AI skills. Here are a few our team recommends:

  • The Innovation Skills Accelerator: Based on research with thousands of public servants across three continents, this problem-solving curriculum gives you the digital, data and innovation skills to deliver more effective, equitable and engaged policies and services.
  • What Works: Fast Field Scanning with AI: This course is designed to help public professionals accelerate the process of finding and implementing urgently-needed evidence-based solutions to public problems. It’s a great way to understand the strengths and limitations of AI tools.
  • Google.org Certificate Program Scholarships for Public Professionals: Free access to Google certification in areas like Digital Marketing, UX research, and Data Analytics. These are useful skills for any public section professional, who often finds themselves doing a little bit of everything. Plus, these are certifications to help strengthen your resume.

Technologists for the Public Good (TPG) is a professional association supporting people who use technology, data, and design to improve public service. TPG helps civic and public interest technologists navigate career transitions and grow their networks by way of: 

  • Mentorship opportunities with experienced public interest technologists

  • Career exploration and professional development events

  • Networking, workshops, webinars, and peer learning opportunities
