Searching For Candidates

There are over 12,000 government-ready job seekers on Civic Match waiting for the opportunity to apply to your roles. This guide details how to search for candidates in the Civic Match database.

Steps

  1. Log into Civic Match.
  2. Go to Browse Candidates to begin reviewing candidate profiles.
    1. By default, you’ll be able to view all candidates with active Civic Match profiles. 

You can sort candidates by date added to Civic Match, most recently updated profile, or name. The default is most recently updated (most recently active profiles at top, older activity at bottom).

You can filter candidates by almost every field that is available on a candidate’s profile, including experience level and background, current role title and employer, professional skills, location, target roles, and regions. 

  • The candidate list will automatically update as you apply filters. 
  • You can apply multiple filters to further refine your search results. 
  • You can remove any of the filters you've applied by clicking the X button next to a particular filter.

You can search to find candidates based on specific criteria, functioning similarly to filters. These criteria can include names, emails, and various other profile details. Additionally, the search function will include results found within candidates' resumes.

Note: These are also the same tags you will use when you post a role to the Civic Match jobs board! 

    Troubleshooting

    My search filter criteria are not yielding any candidates. What should I do? 

    If no job seekers meet your criteria, you will see “No candidates match your filters. Try adjusting your search criteria.” Consider broadening your search by relaxing some of your current filters or initiating a completely new search. If you still can’t find a candidate that meets your criteria, please let us know–we are eager to hear your feedback to help recruit additional candidates.
